This includes everything from starting young horses and ponies, taking them to their first show, teaching them to jump courses, do lead changes, and start their show career. Depending on the owner's goals, we will design a plan to get your horse there. Multi disciplines welcome. Olivia has started ponies, fox hunters, Arabians, Welsh ponies, WBs, and QHs. She also is skilled in restarting OTTB's. Olivia enjoy's learning the personality of each young horse, understanding their strengths and weaknessess, and using that information to help them become a better horse. Olivia is comfortable working with problem horses- spooky, unconfident, holes in prior training, stoppers. She will work with the owner to improve the horse where she can.
Young Horse Training
Training horses are cared for by our staff, two on-site grooms and one on-site trainer. We pride ourselves in happy, healthy horses that are ready to do their jobs. Our horses come in the barn during the day during the summer, and in during nightime in the winter. Our barn has all the amenities: two hot/cold wash racks, fans throughout the barn, heaters, tack lockers, laundry services, grooming services, stalls with optional run outs, miles of trails, xc jumps, arena lights, a full Dalman jump course, in- house horse shows, off- site shows, trailering, vet/farrier management, and so much more.
Our horses go out on a combined 10 acres of pasture in small groups. They eat Tribute Nutrition grain, Safe Choice, beet pulp, alfalfa pellets, rice bran, and Orchard hay. Each horse's nutrition plan is designed for their ever- changing needs.
Horses are worked with 3- 5 days a week by Olivia, depending on the program they are on. Local rider's are encouraged to train as well- taking unlimited lessons (available when the horse is in training). Ask about our group training schedule thoughout the week!
Some owners would like a more one on one approach. That works for us as well, and is arranged around our primary training schedule. These lessons are not unlimited due to their nature.
